I was playing around with the greeble modifier in 3dsmax before jumping into photoshop. It's a really nice tool to create random city shape.
really nice work. I thought 3dsmax was expensive? how did you come across 3dsmax? don't mean to intrude. I've been finding a way to get my hands on any 3d software to start creating 3dmodels. are there any cheaper softwares out there for beginners to create 3d models. nice work by the way. cheers Katastract.
Looks great. Greeble is a really useful tool. However you still need to have great painting skills like you clearly demonstrate here. Did you render a Zdepth pass to create the impression of atmospheric perspective because it looks that way?
Thanks! For the 3d I just did a simple render with a skylight.
Ya, greeble is useful, but too many people use the default settings and then declare it done. This painting does a great job of using it properly, as a basis on which to build on top of (either in 3d or 2d paint). Great work Mathieu!
I will have to try out that greeble modifier some time. After I install max of course...
Great image, such detail. The little light dots really help this image! Superb work!
I feel i should do an unofficial review, But well I'm breathless its so realistic.
Good Work .. ..
I really like the tiny hints of red!
This city is amazing! I also love the way that the lighting creates the impression of it being in space/at night, with only the stars for illumination. Really beautiful, keep up the good work!
